Question tags

Question tags są krótkimi pytaniami występującymi na końcu zdania, w dowolnym tłumaczeniu oznaczają: nieprawdaż? Prawda? Mam rację?

Question tag przybiera formę przeczącą, gdy zdanie jest twierdzące. Natomiast gdy zdanie jest przeczeniem, question tag przybiera formę twierdzącą.

Question tags składają się z czasownika posiłkowego (takiego jaki występuje w zdaniu) oraz osoby.

You don’t feel like dancing today, do you?

She had gone out of the car before this happened, hadn’t she?

John wasn’t playing football two weeks ago, was he?

Mike had been painting the roof the whole day before he fell down, hadn’t he?

I’ve been trying to follow a thief, haven’t I?

Father is having a shower right now, isn’t he?

You will move to Paris next year, won’t you?

Grandmother should come back any time, shouldn’t she?
